Delegate Peace joins Board in Support of Resolution Del. Christopher K. Peace (R-Mechanicsville) in support of a resolution passed by the Hanover Board of Supervisors today urged the Governor to declare Hanover County a disaster are due to drought and heat. Such a designation is vital in order to provide the means for those affected to qualify for any available disaster relief assistance.
“As a supporter of the Virginia Agribusiness Council's Ag Initiative and endorsed by the Farm Bureau, I believe that agribusiness as well as our district's farming culture must be defended and preserved stated Peace. This year has been hard on farmers and they deserve some relief. I hope Gov. Kaine will hear our voices and respond. This office will be working hard to help the county see this process through. I want to thank Supervisor Jack Ward and the County Board for their leadership in bringing this critical issue to my attention.”
